We are very happy to welcome back our Service Users this week.
There have been lots of changes to how things operate in and around the Centre.
We have implemented a one way system throughout our main building and are social distancing at 2 metres. Unfortunately due to limited space in the main building we are currently limited to 50% capacity but it's great to see everyone back!
There are some pictures in a post on our What's Happening page.
The nursery's opening hours will be be:
Monday to Friday 9.15am-3pm (excluding bank holidays). Last entry into the nursery will be at 2.45pm to allow for 3pm closure.
To protect our customers and staff at this time will restrict the number of customers who can come into the nursery at any one time as follows:
We will be limiting the amount of trolleys in use to 7.
There will be a maximum of 2 customers per trolley from the same household.
Minimum number of customers in nursery 7.
Maximum 14 if 2 per trolley.
If you have downloaded the NHS Test and Trace app you will be able to check-in upon entry to the nursery using our QR code.
When the nursery is full entrance will be on a '1-in 1-out' basis.
We will provide hand sanitiser and disinfectant spray to clean trolley handles upon entry to the nursery and ask customers to keep their distance - 2 metres.
We are unable to provide masks and gloves to customers so please use your own discretion.
Please note we are not set-up to take card payments so only accept cash and cheques.
We have a selection of winter bedding, please see price list on our Opening Times page.
We look forward to seeing you!
The New Blendworth Centre is a day provision for post 19 year old people with varying degrees of learning difficulties/disabilities. The Centre offers its Service Users a work orientated placement in a semi-sheltered environment, situated in the village of Horndean in Hampshire. The Centre aims to develop and support individual goals, encourage friendships, raise self-esteem and promote confidence and independence. Referrals for placement at the Centre can be made through either your local social services office or by contacting the Centre direct.
Within the Centre grounds there is a small nursery outlet with many poly tunnels and potting sheds which facilitates the service users activities. From seed sowing, plant cuttings, potting on, cleaning stock and generally keeping the nursery and its display areas clean and tidy, makes for a busy day at the Centre. The end product of these on-site activities can be purchased by the general public in our nursery shop.
An organisation called the Bedhampton volunteers contract us to plant up their wraparound lamppost tubs for their summer display within the village of Bedhampton they have used our services for many years.
Out-reach contractual work ranging from small gardens to larger grounds maintenance is carried out by a small team under the supervision of a member of staff.
We take pride in the fact that we are very involved in the local community; we undertake litter pick-ups for Horndean Parish Council and Clanfield Parish Council. We also deliver leaflets in these areas when we are required to do so.
The Centre offers the opportunity for its service users to join together in recreational activities during the week. Basic adult education is delivered at the Centre in a small classroom setting for Service Users who wish to continue to develop their numeracy and literary skills.
A new craft area has proven to be very popular offering Service Users the opportunity to experience working with different art and craft mediums.
Our service users feel passionately about their Centre and this is demonstrated by the enthusiasm each individual exhibits through-out any one day and their continuing contribution to the running and the maintenance of this service facility.
